Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday, 17 March 2017

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

This week, the High Court has been hearing a case against the Government's decision to grant planning permission in Lancashire to fracking company Cuadrilla; a diplomatic crisis has escalated between Turkey and the Netherlands threatening to encompass other EU nations; the BBC has confirmed that it will no longer produce Songs of Praise leading to criticism that it is deliberately marginalising Christianity; MPs voted in favour of a Bill to decriminalise abortions; and the Brexit Bill finally received Parliamentary approval and the Royal Assent opening up the way for the Prime Minister, Theresa May, to trigger Article 50 and start the negotiating process to take Britain out of the EU.
