Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday, 24 March 2017

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

This week saw a bomb attack in Northern Ireland (in which no-one died) and a terror attack on the Houses of Parliament in London (in which four people died).

In other news, the European Court of Justice ruled that employers can ban an employee's display of religious or political belief (including head scarves and crosses); Asda and Sainsbury's confirmed that they will not be stocking "Real Easter Eggs" produced by the Meaningful Chocolate Company; the World Meteorological Organisation published a report stating that climate change had pushed the world into “truly uncharted territory”; and Prime Minister Theresa May announced that she would trigger Article 50 next Wednesday.
