Sunday
Gracious Lord, we thank and praise you for your loving kindness towards us. May we always be willing to share and demonstrate this with those we meet. Help us to be good witnesses for you, that other people will see this ‘fruit of the Spirit’ reflected in us. For your glory. Amen.

Monday
Merciful Lord, please give our government wisdom in allowing children aged 12-15 to be given the coronavirus vaccine against the wishes of their parents. May their reasons be clearly explained and understood. We pray that clinicians will know whether individual children are mature enough to make their own decisions about this. We pray also that parental responsibility will not be undermined by this decision. Amen.

Tuesday
God of Mercy, we pray for the more than 540,000 children in Haiti affected by the recent earthquake. They lack access to shelter, drinking water and hygiene facilities and are at risk of contracting illnesses such as respiratory infections, cholera and malaria. Lord, please protect them, we pray. May those at risk receive access to the many essential items they need, such as soap and fresh water. Amen.

Wednesday
Father of all, we remember the hundreds of thousands of people who die each year from diseases caused by contaminated drinking water. Please be with their families, we pray. We ask that many more people will have access to clean water and safe sanitation in the coming years. For your name’s sake. Amen.

Thursday
Liberating Father, as November’s COP26 summit in Glasgow gets closer, we give thanks for the technology that enables electricity to be produced from solar panels and wind farms. Please give scientists knowledge and understanding so that electricity produced in this way can be stored until it is needed. Amen.

Friday
Light of the World, we pray for Sir Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats as their Online Autumn Conference starts today. Please guide him in his leadership of the party. May his party’s opinions be fairly represented in the print and broadcast media, with a wide range of views and ideas broadcast without bias. In your mercy. Amen.

Saturday
Eternal God, we thank you that your Son Jesus Christ is ‘the way, the truth and the life.’ Help us to walk in his way, to rejoice in his truth and to share his risen life. Please help us by your grace to withstand the temptations of the world and the devil and follow you with pure hearts and minds. We ask this prayer in your Son Jesus Christ’s name and for his sake. Amen.
Other events taking place
Dear Lord, we pray that you would equip Chris Hill as he speaks at Time Out with God on 13th September and at his monthly seminar or 14th. We pray too for the Men’s Breakfast on 15th September with Patrick Regan. May those attending be encouraged in their faith.
