The LORD is righteous in all he does, merciful in all his acts. He is near to those who call to him, who call to him with sincerity.

Sunday
Jesus Christ, pioneer of our salvation, we give thanks for all those preaching today and for their congregations. May they speak faithfully and clearly to those who are listening. ‘For your word is living and active; sharper than any double-edged sword.’ Help all preachers and church leaders to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of the gospel. Please strengthen them by your Holy Spirit, we pray. Amen.
Do you remember to pray regularly for your vicar or minister?

Monday
Righteous Judge, we remember all those who are affected by the recent rise in interest rates. We think especially of the two million homeowners who will see an immediate increase in their monthly mortgage repayments. We know that other loans may become more expensive too. Please give wisdom to Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey, as he makes decisions on the best way of dealing with the rise in inflation and cost of living crisis. For your mercy’s sake. Amen.

Tuesday
Lord God, we praise you for the faithfulness of all those who support the Nationwide Christian Trust and for their sacrificial giving over many years. We are especially grateful at the present time, when the cost of living is increasing. We pray for protection and blessing on them and that you will meet all their needs. Amen.

Wednesday
Prince of Peace, at this time of continued tension and bloodshed in Ukraine, we pray for peace in that country and comfort for all who are suffering as a result of the war. May they feel the warmth of your presence as you guide them towards refuge and safety. We give thanks for all those offering their homes as sanctuary. Give them wisdom and understanding as they welcome people from Ukraine who may be separated from their families and loved ones. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Do you know anyone who has agreed to host any Ukrainian refugees at this time?

Thursday
God of compassion, we bring before you those who have been affected by the lack of drugs available to pharmacists for treating medical conditions such as hay fever and hormone replacement therapy. We remember too the three-quarters of all pharmacists who have had to deal with aggression from patients who have been told they cannot receive the medication they have been prescribed. We pray that long-term solutions can be found to deal with this situation. In your mercy. Amen.

Friday
Light of the Nations, we bring before you the situation in Northern Ireland where Sinn Fein have become the largest party. We ask that complex issues regarding the Northern Ireland Protocol can be resolved. May there be a desire for the Democratic Unionist Party to consider a power-sharing agreement at the appropriate time to enable a stable and accountable government that delivers on the issues that are important to the people there. Amen.

Saturday
God of Justice, we pray for the integrity of our politicians at this time. With so many allegations surrounding ‘partygate’ and ‘beergate’, your word reminds us to pray for all those in authority. We pray that our politicians will be honest in their dealings with the public and lead by example. May the media treat our political leaders fairly and report matters truthfully. We ask this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Our events taking place
We pray for Chris Hill as he speaks at Time Out with God on 16th May and at his monthly seminar the following day. May his words be an encouragement to all who attend. We pray also for Russ Parker as he leads our ‘Delving Deeper’ day on 18th May on ‘Rediscovering the Ministry of Blessing.’
