Sunday
Light of the World, we pray for those attending the Conservative Party Conference which starts today and for our new Prime Minister, Liz Truss. Please give her courage and clarity to explain new policies and ideas in the Chancellor’s recent ‘mini-Budget.’ May the Government’s record in office be represented fairly and without bias by the broadcast media and various online websites. In your mercy. Amen.
Due to staff holidays, the next edition of A Time To Pray will be published w/c October 16th.

Monday
Father God, we pray for your church throughout the world, for unity in faith, in witness and in service. We pray also for bishops, pastors and other ministers and those they serve throughout the world. We remember too those who are mocked and persecuted for their faith in you. Please richly bless and increase your Church and preserve it in peace, we pray. Amen.

Tuesday
Merciful Father, creator of all the peoples of the earth, have compassion on all who do not know you. By the preaching of the gospel with grace and power, speak to their hearts and minds and gather them into the one fold of the one Shepherd; Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wednesday
God of Peace, we bring before you the ongoing unrest in Iran where demonstrators have continued to protest about the fate of Mahsa Amini, who died in police custody after being arrested for incorrectly wearing a hijab. Lord, we are concerned that the Iranian regime’s response has led to the deaths of at least 76 protesters. We pray for justice to be done and remember Mahsa Amini’s family at this sad time. In your mercy. Amen.

Thursday
Light of the Nations, we bring before you the war of words between America and Russia over the situation in Ukraine. We pray that lines of communication remain open between these two countries and for a reduction in tensions in the coming days and weeks. Give wisdom to their leaders, so that any direct military action can be avoided. May this situation be resolved by negotiation. For your glory. Amen.

Friday
We bring before you the people of Italy and for Giorgia Meloni, their first female prime minister. May her new coalition government, which is being put together, govern for all the people of that country. We ask too that she will have good relationships with other EU countries. Thank you for the unifying tone of her speeches so far. For your name’s sake. Amen.

Saturday
Dear Lord, we know the numbers of people testing positive for Covid is increasing and will increase further in the coming weeks. For this reason, we pray that those who are eligible for the booster vaccination will have it when they are offered. We think especially of the elderly and other vulnerable groups at this time. In your name. Amen.
Our events taking place
We pray for Ian Moore as he speaks at Time Out with God on 3rd October. We pray too for Chris Hill who is speaking at Time Out with God on 17th October and at his monthly seminar the following day. May each person attending be drawn closer to you. We also bring before the Lord our Ladies’ Day on 12th October with Lynette Brooks.
