Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday, 14 December 2018

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

  • A&E departments have had their worst November performance on record. Figures show just 87.6% of patients were seen within four hours, against a target of 95%.

  • The pub owner JD Wetherspoon has won the right to identify the operator of a bogus Twitter account used to send false information about the company. The messages were deemed to “interfere with business.”

  • The charity Crisis has said that more than 24,000 people are facing Christmas sleeping rough. Research by Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh shows people either sleeping on the streets, or spending the night on trains, buses, cars or in tents.
