The oldest person in the UK has died at the age of 112. Grace Jones was born in Liverpool only 5 years after the death of Queen Victoria.
Today is the 2nd anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire in west London where 72 people died.
The government have announced that next year’s May Day bank holiday, set for Monday 4 May, will be switched to Friday 8 May, to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
The former Labour MP Chuka Umunna, who left the party in February to form Change UK, has joined the Liberal Democrats. He becomes their 12th MP.
