Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday 19 July 2019

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

  • Gideons UK has taken the decision to allow women to join as members for the first time. The organisation distributes more than 800,000 Bibles in the UK every year, to places such as hospitals, schools and universities.

  • Under new Government proposals, breathalysers may be fitted inside the vehicles of convicted drink-drivers. A similar system already happens in France.

  • According to market research firm Mintel, 25% of UK citizens now drink plant-based milks such as coconut and soya, instead of cow’s milk.
