Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday, 24 November 2017

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

  • Our new Prayer Guide for Parliament and the Nation for December 2017 - February 2018 has now been published and is available from our website.
  • The UN Security Council has called on Myanmar to stop its military campaign in Rakhine state and allow Muslim Rohingya refugees to return to their homes.
  • From September 2019, the teaching of relationships education in primary schools and relationships and sex education (RSE) in secondary schools will be mandatory. There are concerns that the new lessons will promote the LGBT+ agenda, stigmatise traditional marriage and introduce very young children to concepts they are too young to critically assess, e.g. homosexuality and transgenderism.
  • We will be temporarily pausing sending this weekly email until the New Year. Please continue to pray for our nation and its leaders.
