Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday 25 October 2019

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

  • Transport secretary Grant Shapps has said that smart motorways will be reviewed following concerns over driver safety. He told MPs: "We know people are dying on smart motorways" and recommendations are expected "in a matter of weeks.”

  • Patients suffering with cystic fibrosis should be able to get a new life-extending drug within 30 days. The drug improves lung function and children as young as age two can take it.

  • Chelsea Old Church in London has spent four years fundraising for a new hand-crafted organ, as their current one is 70 years old and failing. Rock legends Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton both live nearby and they made donations towards the cost of purchasing the £650,000 organ.
