Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday 27 March 2020

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

  • Parliament has been shut down for at least four weeks. This comes after MPs were sent home early to stop the spread of coronavirus.

  • Proposals by Boris Johnson to cut the number of MPs from 650 to 600 have been shelved. This is due to the “greater workload” that will be generated by the UK leaving the EU.

  • Wholesale petrol prices have fallen by 22% since December 2019. However, the price for motorists ‘at the pump’ has dropped by just 3%.
