Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday 8 November 2019

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

  • Torrential rain in Sheffield on Thursday caused several roads and schools to be closed. Train services across the Pennines were also affected.

  • Part of the ceiling at the Piccadilly Theatre in London collapsed on Wednesday evening. Four people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

  • Royal Mail is making a formal application on 8th November to stop a potential postal strike. This is because the company say the strike ballot “was unlawful and, therefore, null and void.”
