Exploring the Psalms - Led by Reverend Ian Moore

DATES FOR 2022 ARE TO BE CONFIRMED.

A monthly opportunity to consider this wonderful treasury of wisdom. Psalms is the largest book in the Bible; the hymn book of God’s people; placed centrally; it’s the most quoted book in the New Testament... It’s full of truth, emotion, honesty, vulnerability and passion.

“Whenever the Psalms are abandoned, an incomparable treasure is lost to the Christian church. With its recovery will come unexpected power.” - Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“(The Psalms are) a Little Bible, wherein everything contained in the entire Bible is beautifully and briefly comprehended.” - Martin Luther

Come apart for two hours when we can consider, meditate upon and embrace psalms of lament, triumph, thanksgiving, praise, kingship, Zion and wisdom. We will also look at wonderful Messianic psalms, pilgrim psalms (psalms of ascent) and even, for puzzlers, acrostic psalms.

“The most valuable thing the Psalms do for me is to express the same delight in God which made David dance.” - C.S. Lewis

Let’s delight together!

Join us from 10am for tea/coffee, for a 10.30am start. The meeting will end at 12.30pm and the cost is to be confirmed. You may like to stay on after the meeting and buy a sandwich lunch from the hotel.

Reverend Ian Moore

Ian is a Pastor, Mission Leader, Speaker and Prison Chaplain. Throughout life, Ian has found God’s Word to be an unfailing inspiration. Romans 8:28 has been a particular ‘life verse’; “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose”. As we explore the Psalms, we shall rediscover the reality of this truth: God Himself will work all things for good according to His Word and by His Spirit. Hallelujah!
