The LORD is righteous in all he does, merciful in all his acts. He is near to those who call to him, who call to him with sincerity.

Sunday
Good Shepherd, your Word in Matthew ch11v28 tells us to come to you when we feel weary and burdened and that you will give us rest. We pray for all clergy and ministers at this time. Please bless them with good mental and physical health and give them a positive sense of wellbeing. In carrying out their roles, may they be a blessing to their congregations both large and small and sense your presence with them. In your name. Amen.

Monday
Father, we want to praise you, for you are the living God who endures for ever. You rescue and save and perform signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. Yours is an everlasting kingdom that has no end. We come before you with thanksgiving and worship you with music and song. Thank you, dear Lord. Amen.

Tuesday
Lord of all gentleness, we pray for the family of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe who has been sentenced to a year in prison, after being found guilty of propaganda activities against the Iranian regime. Father, we pray for her mental health, which has suffered badly since she was first imprisoned. We lift her husband and daughter to you. Give wisdom and determination to Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab as they attempt to secure her release. In your mercy. Amen.

Wednesday
Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy. Please sustain and support the anxious and be with those who tend for the sick. Give them a fresh understanding of your care and concern for them. Lift up all who are brought low, that they may find comfort, knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus. For your glory, we pray. Amen.

Thursday
God of wisdom, we bring before you all those standing in various elections across the United Kingdom today. We ask that many people will vote and not leave it to just a few. We bring before you all the candidates who will be standing. May those who are elected into positions of power and influence, act selflessly and serve with integrity and honour. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Friday
Merciful Saviour, grant us grace to follow in the steps of your holy apostles and to be committed in our walk with you. May we be reminded that our souls find rest in you alone and that our salvation comes from you. Help us to live in a way that leads to your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Saturday
God of Creation, we give thanks for the many churches, chapels and cathedrals that are taking an innovative approach to reduce their carbon footprint. We think particularly of Bath Abbey, which now has a heating system using the heat from its hot water springs. Please help individual churches to realise the benefits that small investments such as LED lighting can have on the environment. Amen.
Our events
Lord, would you bless Simon Ward, our guest at our Lunchtime Inspirations meeting on Zoom on 12th May. May the words he speaks and the songs he sings be an encouragement to those who join. In Jesus' name. Amen.
We also pray for Chris Hill as he speaks on Zoom at Time out with God on 10th May and at the monthly seminar on 11th. Lord, would you give Chris wisdom as he teaches from your Word and may those attending learn more about you. Amen.
