The LORD is righteous in all he does, merciful in all his acts. He is near to those who call to him, who call to him with sincerity.

Sunday
Almighty God, give us grace to cast to one side the works of darkness and put on the armour of light. On this Advent Sunday, we remember your Son Jesus Christ coming to us in great humility. On the last day, when he comes again in his glorious majesty to judge the living and the dead, may we rise to live with him for ever. We ask this through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Unfortunately, due to staff changes at Nationwide Christian Trust, the final issue of our ‘A Time to Pray’ guide will be published for w/c 25th December. There will now also be a two-week gap before the next issue of ‘A Time to Pray’ is published on w/c 18th December.

Monday
Caring Saviour, we bring before you those who are now passing into the stage of needing increasing support and care. We pray that you will give strength and determination to enable Christians in this situation to continue following you, despite their restrictions. Help them to carry on witnessing to your goodness and mercy. Amen.

Tuesday
Lord, we thank you for the wisdom, listening ear and practical help that many grandparents can give, especially those who share their Christian faith. Please draw near to any grandparents who would love to spend more time with their grandchildren. Help them to pray for and find ways to communicate their love for them. In your mercy. Amen.

Wednesday
Lord Jesus, we read in John ch1v35-41 how you blessed your apostle Andrew and encouraged him to bring his brother Peter to meet you. Give us, who are called by your holy Word, the grace to follow without delay and tell the good news of your kingdom to others. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thursday
Almighty and everliving God, we are reminded how your Son Jesus Christ healed the sick and restored them to wholeness of life. On this World Aids Day, look with compassion on the suffering of the world, we pray and by your healing power, please make whole both humanity and nations. For your mercy’s sake. Amen.

Friday
Dear Father God, in your great mercy, please restore peace to hearts that are troubled and broken around the world. Protect and strengthen those who are working for peace and for those who are experiencing trauma. We are reminded in Matthew ch5v9: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.” Help us to be peacemakers in our families and communities too. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Saturday
Faithful One, we pray for and remember those who are fearful of what the future may hold, especially with the rising cost of food and energy. We pray too that you would answer the prayers of those who are seeking work. Help them to find jobs that are fulfilling and enjoyable and pay a fair wage. Your Word in Luke ch10v7 reminds us that “the worker deserves his wages.” Amen.
Unfortunately, due to staff changes at Nationwide Christian Trust, the final issue of our ‘A Time to Pray’ guide will be published for w/c 25th December. There will now also be a two-week gap before the next issue of ‘A Time to Pray’ is published on w/c 18th December.
Our events taking place
We pray for John Ryeland, Director of The Christian Healing Mission, as he prepares to speak on 28th November on the subject of ‘Rediscovering our Identity’ and ‘Rediscovering God’s Touch.’
We pray for Chris Hill who is speaking at Time Out with God on 5th December and at his monthly seminar the following day. May all who attend be drawn closer to our Lord.
