With Rachael Newman
Monday 20th April 2026 8pm
If you’re curious about how lament fits into the life of faith and the reality of mental illness, join us for an evening with Rachael who is an author and speaker specialising in the theology of mental health and illness. She will explore how knowing we are loved by God allows us to lament, she will explore the biblical basis for lament, how it’s impacted her and how it can mark a culture shift in our churches. Rachael will also share her experience of mental illness and how this has impacted her faith.
Rachael is a Theology of Mental Health Specialist and the founder of the Christian mental health charity ThinkTwice. She holds a BA (Hons) in Theology and an MTh in Pastoral Theology of Depression from the London School of Theology. Previously she worked as the Mental Health Friendly Church Project Manager at Kintsugi Hope. Now freelance, she spends her time preaching, speaking, and writing on faith and mental health. She is the author of Learning to Breathe (2018) and And Yet (2021), with her third book Beloved is where we begin was published in August.
