The following publications were written by Canon Michael Cole (Editor of Living Light) for Christians in leadership and for those who are passionate about praying for our country.
The events of Easter lie at the heart of the Christian faith. Sadly, we live at a time when many people don’t know what happened and others don’t believe the events are true - especially the fact of the Resurrection when Jesus rose again from the dead on the first Easter Sunday. In ‘The Easter Story’ Michael Cole reviews the original evidence, explains why these historic facts are vitally important today, records the difference they can make to everyone and the impact they are having on the world now. In words and pictures ‘The Easter Story’ can change your life.
In an increasingly secular society that is steadily rejecting Biblical values, there are vital responses that Christians are called to make. We need to speak out to those in authority and we need to pray for our nation. Prayer is not the last resort but the first resource and responsibility that Christians have.
This is our response to a recent discussion about ‘British values’ and the sweeping away of traditional, Biblical values in our nation. Against the background of the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta (in June 2015), which formally established the authority of the Church’s teaching, and in the context of an increasingly multicultural and multi-religious society, we seek to show the basis for the uniqueness of the Christian faith and how we can work together to rebuild Christian Britain today.
Michael Cole looks back over his years of Christian ministry, as well as to all the different Christian ministries taking place in the country now to show how we can reach the next generation at a time when our secular society questions the very truth and relevance of the Christian faith.
