NUTRITIONHELP EVENING
with Nutritional Therapist Emma Cockrell
Addressing health concerns with nutrition
_How a basic understanding of food can positively influence wellbeing _
Monday 21st July 7.30pm including finger buffet
at Mulberry House, Chelmsford Road, High Ongar, Essex, CM5 9NL
With more than 40 years’ experience working with natural foods, Emma has a wealth of knowledge to share. She is the Nutritional Director of Nutritionhelp, where she provides nutritional advice for a wide variety of health issues, including weight, blood sugar and diabetes, IBS and gastrointestinal issues, hormones and stress, energy and fatigue, cholesterol and blood pressure.
Emma speaks at conferences, and also delivers cookery classes to help people transition to a way of cooking and eating that encourages health. She holds a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy and is registered with The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.
Emma's interest in nutrition began when, as a teenager, she realised what she ate and drank affected her own wellbeing – finding she had a food intolerance, then going through ‘mystery fatigue’ following glandular fever. Supporting her health nutritionally, she overcame these issues and went on to become manager of a wholefood shop and restaurant, holding wholefood cookery classes and giving talks to adult education courses and social groups, and then training in the science of a personalised approach to nutritional therapy.
Emma is passionate about helping people appreciate the value of good nutrition and she will speak about how having a basic understanding of food choices has potential to make a difference to our health. So much of our Western diet has little resemblance to the natural foods our Creator God designed for us to eat, while pollution and food transportation means that even a good diet can often be compromised.
As Christians we want to be eating as well as we can, to fuel our bodies optimally for living and serving for God's glory.
Married to Peter, a church Pastor in Essex, Emma teaches within women's and children's ministry and regularly leads worship. Peter and Emma have two married daughters and three grandchildren.
£20 per person including finger buffet on arrival. Menu for the evening to be confirmed.
