Prayers for Parliament and the Nation: Friday, 12 October 2018

" I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "

- 1 Timothy 2:1-4

  • Researchers looking at official health data from the last decade have found that, in 2015, 29% of 16 to 24-year-olds said they didn't drink, compared with 18% in 2005. Non-drinking was found across a broad range of age groups, suggesting it was becoming “more mainstream.”

  • Singapore Airlines has relaunched a new Singapore to New York service five years after they withdrew it because it had become too expensive. It will be the world’s longest non-stop flight and will cover more than 15,000km. It is scheduled to take just under 19 hours.

  • As Storm Callum sweeps across Wales, hundreds of homes across Wales are without power and suffering from travel disruption. An amber warning of heavy rain for South Wales has been issued from Friday morning into Saturday.
