TIME OUT WITH GOD DAY with Richard Blyth
MONDAY 18TH MAY 10.30am to 3.30pm
at Mulberry House, Chelmsford Road, High Ongar, CM5 9NL
Richard will speak on The healing power of lamentation, and living in the presence of God.
The Book of Lamentations consists of five poems that mourn the fall of Jerusalem and the suffering of its people following the Babylonian conquest in 587 BC. Literary form emphasises the depth of sorrow experienced by the Jewish people during this period of loss and devastation. It is a story of loss, grief and repentance, made necessary because of the people's rebellion and sin. We also mourn, sometimes individually and sometimes corporately as a result of sin and suffering in various ways. We cannot always escape this, even the Holy Spirit mourns, (Romans 9) and Jesus said Blessed are they that mourn. How do we live through the burden until healing comes?
We, like Adam and Eve were made to live in the presence of God, but only they (and of course Jesus) experienced the fullness of what this is truly like. As fallen people we lost His presence, but through the New man Christ we regain much of His presence. What is it like to truly go with His presence?
Tea/coffee from 10am and the day begins at 10.30am with worship songs before handing over to our speaker.
There is time for personal prayer and reflection in the morning and afternoon sessions.
The cost of £26 includes a 2 course lunch and tea/cofee and biscuits from 10.00am.
