On 31st October, House of Commons Speaker John Bercow retired from the role he held for 10 years. He will also be standing down as MP for Buckingham.
Alfred Dorris, the driver of a tram that crashed in Croydon, South London killing seven people, will not face prosecution. More than 50 people were injured when the tram derailed near Sandilands tram stop in November 2016.
Official data show the number of infections that do not respond to antibiotics has risen by 9% in the past year.
